Who We Are
Ventura Dog Ranch, or The Ranch, is a premier indoor/outdoor dog hotel sitting on over an acre of agricultural land in the beautiful coastal town of Ventura, CA.

We are a dog hotel boasting over 50 rooms for our pups with 10 different play yards for them to roam in.

The Ranch is an alternative to traditional kenneling, which often keeps dogs indoors and in their kennels with little to no time outside to enjoy the elements. The Ranch, on the other hand, is designed for dogs to interact when temperaments permit. We offer plenty of space for our dogs to stretch their legs and play in socially compatible groups while supervised.

We are passionate about dogs, uncompromising about cleanliness, and fully in service to these creatures that make our lives better every day.

While your dog is in our care, we will treat him like our own.

Boarding
Ventura Dog Ranch is where your dog wants to stay the night! We offer an alternative to traditional kenneling by encouraging dogs of similar temperaments and sizes to socialize and run free in any one of our ten yards. We offer a range of different sized kennels as well as indoor and outdoor options.

When your pup stays with us, he or she will be guaranteed 1 x 1 time with one of our expert kennel techs, outdoor runs to run around during the day, and small group socialization if personality permits (read below).

New dogs who haven’t graduated yet into one of our daycare packs will be charged $10/night as they are considered ‘unsocial’ until we are sure they can be grouped into a social pack (5 daycare visits minimum). ‘Unsocial’ dogs will be given ample time outside in one of our smaller yards by themselves, in addition to having their own kennel to rest in (varies due to size of the dog).

Doggy Day Care
At Ventura Dog Ranch we encourage social dogs to spend time playing together in packs. We don’t, however, throw just any dogs together in a large group and hope for the best. We have a system where we evaluate your dog over the course of 5 days in order to determine if they are a fit for our small dog (up to ~30 lbs) or big dog (~30 lbs and over) packs.

If at any point in this time period we feel as though your dog isn’t groupable in one of our packs, we’ll let you know and we can still facilitate daycare at an additional $5/day charge (added daily to any packages), and your dog will receive one on one attention from our kennel staff and a place to run around outside.

Once a dog graduates into our pack program, they will join their pack every time they’re with us.
